The Fair Trade store is a cooperative effort that showcases the women’s products to tourists and other visitors, and educates them about the cultural context of the artisans’ work. The store provides our women members with a dedicated space to sell their products and meet potential new clients. It also gives them real world experience in running a retail operation, seeing the kind of products people are interested in and practicing ways to connect with the customer in order to make not only a financial transaction, but a longer-term relationship.
